Tips for Baby Scrapbooking PDF Print E-mail
A new baby in the family is the perfect excuse for scrapbooking and baby scrapbooking projects can be wonderful keepsakes as well as a lot of fun to produce. The simple fact is that there are always so many moments and milestones that you can capture in a baby scrapbooking project and there are likely to be hundreds of pictures to choose from too! Baby scrapbooking albums also make a unique way to carry your pictures and show them off in all of their glory at gatherings of family and friends. The only problem is probably going to be deciding exactly what you want to use for your baby scrapbooking pages and what to leave out – you are certainly going to be spoilt for choice.

The early days of a baby’s life do not provide the most flattering picture for most babies, let’s face it, but the joy of the new parents and any other close relatives are often hard to describe in words and only the picture is needed, almost, for your baby scrapbooking. The key for these first baby scrapbooking pages is minimalism. The idea is to have only the key elements in the journaling to enable viewers to simply enjoy the atmosphere of the pictures. A picture of the proud family with their new arrival need only have a few words with the baby’s name, date, time of birth and weight stated on the baby scrapbooking page. It is easy to get caught up in the moment and buy every baby scrapbooking related embellishment that is available but this will only create a confusion of unnecessary items and detract from the beauty of the moment and ruin your baby scrapbooking album.

Another factor that is worth considering when it comes to baby scrapbooking is the colour theme. The traditional pink for a girl and blue for a boy might be a nice idea but it can soon become dull and predictable. Colours should be used to enhance the pictures that are being used in the baby scrapbooking pages and not to simply make a point about the baby’s gender. The design of the baby scrapbooking album cover need not necessarily be a boy or girl issue either and it is a fun idea to look for pastel shades or even bold colours, whatever you fancy.

The main issue surrounding baby scrapbooking is to have fun creating treasured memories that the family can enjoy for years to come. There are so many milestones in a child’s life that it is a great way to remember their first steps, words, day at school and all of the other stages of life with a baby scrapbooking album (or a hundred!)
